| APPLETON, Dr. Sherwood - Following a courageous and lengthy battle with cancer, Dr. Sherwood (Woody) Appleton passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2009. In the almost fifty years he spent practicing Psychiatry and Sleep Medicine, he touched the lives of thousands. He was a well-recognized visionary in his field, and he will be remembered by his family, friends, colleagues and patients for his enormous intelligence, his generosity of spirit, and his passion for his work. He leaves this world a much better place for all who were fortunate enough to know him and share his life. May he rest in peace.
